While waiting, I looked around at the pictures of the early Tooele settlers hanging on the wall for my ancestors. I was surprised to find some pictures of Picketts. Because none of them were John Pickett, I did not think much about it. Still, I copied the articles about them from their files for later reading. After reading them, I found out that they were all ancestors of Todd, my husband.
To finish off the story, on the Fourth of July, we looked for headstones in the Tooele cemetery. This is what we found:


Matthew and Harriet were Todd's great-great-grandparents. In the first pictures is a marker put in by the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. The second marker is most likely an original to the family. So, ancestors from both of my children's families have original settlers in Tooele!
